About Me

Tony I'm Tony and I'm Ann's husband. Ann was diagnosed with breast-cancer earlier this year. This blog is supposed to keep you up to date on what's going on with us. Please note, that everything I share with you is from my perspective, not Ann's. This is important to understand as you read my blog and browse through my website. Before you start reading my blog, you may want to read our breast-cancer story first The whole intention of this website is to provide insight and - in best case - support to relatives of women who had been diagnosed with breast-cancer. If you have any question, please don't hesitate to contact me at: planetcaravan@gmx.com

Good advice.....

Posted by Tony Ulrich on Monday, August 31, 2009, In : Breast-Cancer Updates

I really don’t mean to be judgmental or overly sarcastic but since this is my breast cancer blog, I believe I can openly state my take on this; as I was searching for literature on the topic of breast cancer and its effect on relatives of those who have been diagnosed (I purposely don’t use the word “victims” here, since in my opinion, it’s an unfortunate but blatant misnomer and I therefore don’t understand why it is commonly used within discussions, articles and literature… ...

Cancer FREE ???

Posted by Tony Ulrich on Monday, August 31, 2009, In : Breast-Cancer Updates

It's a paradoxon in a way: it's fairly easy to find out if you have cancer. As you open the envelope and pull out the pathology report, or as you sit in your doctor's office while he brakes to news to you - then at the latest you know for sure, you have cancer. But no one can definitely ever tell you if/when you're cancer free. According to the expertise of some doctors, you should be okay after 5 years if you had battled the disease successfully and stayed free of recurrence since. Sounds ...

Going back and forth

Posted by Tony Ulrich on Thursday, August 27, 2009, In : Breast-Cancer Updates

We know (of) so many people by now, who either refused traditional breast cancer treatment methods entirely or in part. I'm currently in a state of mind where I really don't know what the right thing is. On one hand, I am convinced that what we are doing is the better choice (Ann had surgery, but will not have chemo and radiation), by strengthening your immune system, a healthy "cancer-killing" diet and lifestyle. Plus the close supervision of a Naturopath and Oncologist. And of course, her...

Laetrile - finding the right dose

Posted by Tony Ulrich on Wednesday, August 26, 2009, In : Breast-Cancer Updates

Ann woke up at around 4:00 AM with a headache. She suspects that she inadvertently received 3 vials rather than 2 when they administered her drips yesterday. 3 is the right - or recommended - dose, actually. But she thought they only gave her 2 for some reason, and therefore she took a little bit more (a pill) later that afternoon. And that (probably) pushed her over and caused her headache.

One thing if you opt for alternative breast cancer treatments: you will probably drown by the flood...

Old fashioned and dead

Posted by Tony Ulrich on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, In : Breast-Cancer Updates

My wife is receiving her Vitamin C and Laetrile drips today (every Tuesday and Thursday) at the Schachter Center for Complimentary Medicine.

I feel a little better today, yesterday was really bad. I haven't felt that overwhelmed with the whole situation in a while. But that's the thing with cancer - despite all the confidence you develop in what you're doing in terms of effective breast cane treaments is the right thing, there is always this cloud hanging over your head. It's also a matter o...

Husband Tony's Breast-Cancer Blog

Posted by Tony Ulrich on Tuesday, August 25, 2009, In : Breast-Cancer Updates

This will be my first blog entry EVER and also the continuation of our breast cancer story.

Alright, I can't sleep. We saw Dr. Simone today, an "open minded" Oncologist, who supports the concept of alternative treatment options. We have to digest all the information he gave us. But most importantly, we are on the same page, no fundamental disagreements.
I will post more details tomorrow.
BTW: It's not easy building a website. It will take a while to get the content up there. Anyway, I will keep...
